Theresa Balestrieri
Theresa Balestrieri, 87, wife of the late Charles Balestrieri, died Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2012.
She is survived by six children, Rose Marie Curran and her husband Bernie of Penn Hills, Charlotte Ingle and her husband Dennis of Jacksonville, FL, Mary Dailey and her husband Don of Uniontown, Rachel Palscak and her husband Bob Sr. of Donegal, PA, Ida Jackson and her husband Michael of Bethel Park and Terri Balestrieri of Emsworth; 15 grandchildren, Mary Given, Gina, Lisa, Chrissy, Connie, Chuckie, Debbie, Anthony, Bobby, Stephen, Michael, Tracy, Michele, David and Eric; 14 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Frank Balestrieri and his wife Carol.
Friends were received at William Slater II Funeral Home, Scott Township, where services were held on Monday. Burial was private. Donations are suggested to Leslie House, c/o Ida Jackson, 5994 Kings School Rd., Bethel Park, PA 15102.

William Zehr
William Raymond Zehr, 67, of Avalon, died Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2012.
He is survived by five siblings, Alice G. Berie and her husband John, Robert L. Zehr and his wife Judy, Marion E. Potts and her husband John, James C. Zehr and Barbara A. Sullivan and her husband Michael; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Alice Zehr; and his brother, Charles Zehr.
Services were private. Arrangements were made by George A. Thoma Funeral Home, Wexford.

Francis Magnone
Francis A. Magnone, 83, of Oakland, died Friday, Jan. 13, 2012.
He is survived by three siblings, Antoinette Greco of Brighton Heights, Joe Anna Magnone of Stowe Township and James Magnone of Brighton Heights; seven nieces and nephews, Frank Greco and his wife Debra, Tina Golling and her husband Jim, Cathy Scott, Gennaro Greco, Gina Ward and her husband Richard, Dana Jenkins and her husband Matt and Robert Magnone and his wife Rachel; and grandnieces and grandnephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gennaro and Mary Magnone; his brother-in-law, Frank Greco; and his sister-in-law, Mary Jo Magnone.
Friends were received at the Lawrence T. Miller Funeral Home, Bellevue, where a blessing service was held on Wednesday. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Susan G. Komen Foundation, 1133 S. Braddock Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15218.

Erma Horgan
Erma Heiles Horgan, 88, of Troy Hill, wife of the late John F. Horgan Sr., died Saturday, Jan. 14, 2011.
Mrs. Horgan worked at the Pittsburgh Conven-tion Center and volunteered at Oasis Volunteer Services. She taught reading skills to students at John Morrow Elementary School. She was a member of Troy Hill Citizens, worked for the Allegheny County Board of Elections, was a member of Christian Mothers and Most Holy Name Church choir and also served as a Sunday school teacher.
She is survived by five children, John F. "Jack" Horgan Jr. and his wife Susan, Maureen Shumard and her husband Jim, Daniel and his wife Patricia, Ralph and his wife Laura and Ronald Horgan and his wife Terry; two siblings, Ethel White and Albert Heiles Sr.; seven grandchildren, Jamie Catherine, Ronald, Sean, Dyanne, Olivia, Matthew and Kylie; 11 nieces and nephews, Thomas and his wife Helene, Judy and her husband Gary, Albert Jr. and his wife Donna, Sr. Mary Catherine, O.S.B., Timothy and his wife Michaelene, David and his wife Jane, Ann, Brian and his wife Kathy, Jim and his wife Dee, Cathy and Joyce; and grandnieces and grandnephews.
Friends were received at Hughes Funeral Home,. Troy Hill. A Mass of Christian Burial was held in St. Cyril of Alexandria Church on Wednesday. Donations are suggested to North Side Catholic School, 3854 Brighton Rd., Pittsburgh, PA 15212.

Diane Scanlon
Diane Groetzinger Scanlon, 68, of Ben Avon died Saturday, Jan. 14, 2012.
Mrs. Scanlon was the owner of Carol Wayne Chocolates.
She is survived by her husband, Regis Terry Scanlon; two children, Wayne and Bethany; her brother, David Groetzinger of Akron, OH; and her granddaughter, Lacey Ziolecki. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Mae Groetzinger.
A memorial service will be held later. Arrangements were made by McDonald-Linn Funeral Home, Avalon.

Joseph Laughlin Jr.
Joseph E. Laughlin Jr., 84, of Ohio Township died Sunday, Jan. 15, 2012.
Mr. Laughlin was an avid sports fan, especially with his children's participation in swimming, water skiing, baseball, golf and wrestling. He was a U.S. Army Air Force veteran of World War II serving in the Philippines. He worked for Harribson-Walker/ Halliburton for 41 years and enjoyed traveling and being a Silver Sneaker.
He is survived by his wife, Stella M. Herrly Laughlin; two children, Joseph E. "Skip" Laughlin III and his wife Sherry of Malvern, OH and Anna Marie "Ree" Katterson and her husband Glen W. of Leechburg, PA; his sister, Margaret "Peg" Neal; four grandchildren, Joseph E. "Rocky," James R. and Katie Laughlin and Rebecca L. "Becky" Torbochkin; two great-grandchildren, Paxton and Henry Laughlin; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph E. Sr. and Anna Gertrude Laughlin; and two sisters, Mary Grace Graff and Katherine McGowan.
Friends were received at the Lawrence T. Miller Funeral Home, Bellevue. A Mass of Christian Burial was held in Sacred Heart Church in Emsworth on Thursday. Burial was in Christ Our Redeemer Cemetery. Joan Ruppert
Joan M. Rander Ruppert, wife of the late Lawrence Ruppert, died Sunday, Jan. 15, 2012.
She is survived by two children, Timothy L. Ruppert and Allison M. Ruppert; and two siblings, Gerard Rander and his wife Ruth and Suzanne Rander. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Margaret Rander.
Friends were received at Thomas P. Kunsak Funeral Home, North Side. A funeral mass was held in Risen Lord Church on Wednesday.

Lorraine Calhoun
Lorraine M. Calhoun, wife of the late David A. Calhoun, died Sunday, Jan. 15, 2012.
Mrs. Calhoun worked at Avalon Elementary School for 25 years.
She is survived by two children, Alvin Calhoun and his wife Michelle of Butler, PA and Karen Carter of Colorado Springs, CO; two grandchildren, David and Kara; and her Collie dog, Beau. She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Matilda Sager; and two brothers, Robert and Herman Sager.
Friends were received at Thomas P. Kunsak Funeral Home, North Side. A funeral service was held in Brighton Heights Lutheran Church on Friday.
