Kenneth M. Todoverto Sr., 81, of Bellevue died Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2011.
He is survived by his wife, Loretta Todoverto; four children, Kenneth Todoverto Jr. and his wife Sandy, Janice Barry and her husband Mike, Carla Pritchard and her husband Glenn and Donna Boyer; his sister, Louise Killian; and five grandchildren, Brian Verlihay and his wife Steph, Steven Verlihay, Glenn Pritchard Jr., Becky Pritchard and Ally Boyer.

Ralph Sandstrom Sr.
Ralph E. Sandstrom Sr., 76, of Bellevue, husband of the late Joan Sandstrom, died Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2011.
He is survived by six children, Rennie Humensky and her husband Ed, Donna Albert and her husband D.A., Vera Pegher, Lisa Sandstrom, Ralph E. Sandstrom Jr. and Ava Sandstrom and her husband Michael Straight; 11 grandchildren, D.J., Shaun, Nikki, Lizzy and Rachael Humensky, Ashley and Donny Albert, Melissa Stanko and her husband Bill, Sammy Jo and T.J. Pegher and Mackenzie Straight; two great-grandchildren, Andrew and Lylah; and his dog, Jack.

Eleanor McCaw, 88, formerly of Ohio Township and wife of the late John Joseph McCaw, died Saturday, Dec. 24, 2011.
She is survived by two children, Ruth Collins and her husband Tim of Ohio Township and Richard McCaw and his wife Virginia of Crafton; her sister, Jane Liedecker; three grandchildren, Sean Hogan and his wife Sharon Coran, Richard McCaw Jr. and Pamela McCaw; four great-grandchildren, Chase, Hunter, Scotty and Jordan; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, George Hohman.

George J. Pekich, 84, of Avalon, husband of the late Cecilia Pekich and Gertrude Pekich, died Thursday, Dec. 22, 2011.
He is survived by six children, Greg Pekich and his wife Mary of Emsworth, Susan Ketchum of Bluffton, SC, Linda Birko and her husband Greg of Kennedy Township, Judy Williams and her husband Bob of Lancaster, OH, Mark Pekich and his wife Michelle of Portersville, PA and Michael Pekich and his wife Donna of Emsworth; three stepsons, Patrick, Paul and Dale Hallam; two siblings, Eleanor Earls and Steve "Mickey" Pekich; 13 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Anna Pekich; and three siblings, Charles Pekich, Ann Henning and Samuel Pekich.

Virginia C. Larkin Zahren, 72, of Ohio Township, died Saturday, Dec. 24, 2011.
She is survived by her husband, William G. Zahren Sr.; four children, Amy Knox and her husband Chris, William G. Zahren Jr. and Meg Ann Zahren, all of Ohio Township and Daniel Zahren and his wife MaryLynn of Ross; two brothers, Thomas Larkin and John Dean Larkin Jr.; nine grandchildren, Shannon, Kelsey, Emily and Aileen Knox, Kaley, Tanner, Danielle, Lauren and Luke Zahren; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Loretta Larkin; and six siblings, Jane Schutte, Margaret Leonard, Edith Larkin, Shirley Wanik, Robert Larkin and Joseph Larkin.

Jack F. Heflin, 83, of Bellevue, husband of the late Rosemary Heflin, died Sunday, Dec. 25, 2011.
Mr. Heflin was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, where he served in Alaska at the age of 17. He then served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany. He worked in residential construction for more than 40 years. He then became a school crossing guard for Bellevue Borough and Assumption School for almost 20 years. He was a member of Avalon American Legion and Bellevue VFW Post 2454, where he was past commander for two years. He enjoyed attending the Bellevue and Northgate High School football games, where he held the chains and first down marker for years.
He is survived by six children, Kathy Conlon and her husband Tom, Roberta Conway and her husband Mike, Judy Heflin Glinski, Laura Heflin, Jack Heflin Jr. and Dave Heflin and his wife Jen; 15 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry Earle and Fern Binkard Heflin; and Faith Rumpler.

Eleanor J. Arnold Ferri, 82, of Brighton Heights, wife of the late William J. Ferri, died Sunday, Dec. 25, 2011.
She is survived by her daughter, Donna Jeffrey Dunn; her son-in-law, Bill Allshouse; four siblings, Elmer Arnold, Doris May Nacey, Gloria Nicholson and Earl Arnold; five grandchildren, Jason and Daniel Jeffrey, Heather Edmonds, Jill and Kelly Allshouse; four great-grandchildren; her nephew, Curtis Ferri; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Lois Allshouse; and four siblings, June Knobeloch, Raymond and Ralph Arnold and Charlotte King.

Doris M. "Dorie" Groll, 86, formerly of Bellevue and West View and wife of the late Paul F. Groll, died Monday, Dec. 26, 2011.
Mrs. Groll was a member of 27th Ward Senior Center, AARP Chapter 1435, Assumption Church Christian Mothers and its bowling league. She also was a volunteer at Assumption School cafeteria.
She is survived by two sons, Paul A. Groll and Arthur T. Groll; her sister, Vera Butera; four nieces and nephews, Beverly Niceswanger, Sr. Jane Ann Cherubin SC, Kristin Niceswanger and Robert D. Zambon; sister-in-law of Fran Coyle, Margie Coyle and Ann and John Haywood; and dear friends, Luke and Antoinette Gruber. She was preceded in death by three siblings, Alice Cherubin, Tom Coyle and Jim Coyle.

Celeste R. Johnston Davis, 79, of Avalon, wife of the late Donald B. Davis, died Friday, Dec. 30, 2011.

Geraldine "Gerry" (Ross) Coleman
Geraldine "Gerry" (Ross) Coleman, 64, of Pittsburgh, PA, died on Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2011 in LifeCare Hospitals of Pittsburgh.
She was born Oct. 25, 1947 in Pittsburgh to Judge Eunice (Latshaw) Ross and the late John A. Ross. Gerry was a 1965 graduate of the Ellis School in Pittsburgh. She received her bachelor's degree in religion from Temple University in 1969. After graduation she taught at Miquon Academy in Philadelphia.
Gerry's life work was educating others as to the methods and benefits of sustainable organic farming. From 1971 to 1977, Gerry ran a farm and lumber group in Wytopitlock, ME. In 1972, she married Peter Hanchak, grandson of the poet, Wallace Stevens. In 1978, she married Eliot Coleman, who was the director of the Coolidge Foundation in Topsfield, MA. They have a son, Ian Coleman. Gerry also reared two loving stepdaughters, Melissa (Coleman) Wallace and Clara Coleman.
Geraldine was co-director of the the farm program at The Mountain School of Milton Academy in Vershire, VT, from 1984-1990. She continued on as the sole director until 2006. She served on the board of the Vermont Organic Farmers, the certification branch of the Northeast Organic Farming Association of Vermont. Gerry was co-owner of the Vermont Organic Grain Company and also served on various co-op boards in Vermont and New Hampshire. Gerry was involved in local politics in Vermont as well as in her mother's campaigns for judge in Pennsylvania. She was a very good politician.
Gerry wrote poetry, painted and loved books, movies, the outdoors, skiing, hiking,mountain climbing, ice skating , travel, her friends and family and animals of all kinds.
She is survived by her mother, Judge Eunice Ross, her son, Ian Coleman, and by her two stepdaughters Melissa (Coleman) Wallace and Clara Coleman.

John J. Bolsinger died Friday, Dec. 30, 2011.
Mr. Bolsinger was a millwright for 50 years and a member of Carpenters (Millwright) Local #2235. He was a member of Knights of Equity for 50 years, a lector at Risen Lord Church (St. Francis Xavier) and a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
He is survived by his wife, Bernice Froehlich Bolsinger; three children, Paul J. Bolsinger and his wife Judith, Kevin J. Bolsinger and his wife Christi and Donna M. Harper and her husband Charlie; two brothers, Robert Bolsinger and William Bolsinger and his wife Eileen; four grandchildren, Brian Bolsinger and his wife Meghan, Opal Swann and her husband Kevin, Rebecca Harper and Matthew Harper; and two great-grandchildren, Vanessa and Liam. He was preceded in death by his sister, Sarah Uhlman.

Marjorie Munroe Dresher, 92, of Franklin Park, wife of the late Ronald John Dresher, died Saturday, Dec. 31, 2011.
Mrs. Dresher was a 1937 graduate of Ben Avon High School and in 1941 she earned a bachelor's degree, and a master's degree in 1972 at the University of Pittsburgh. She was a member of Ingomar United Methodist Church for 60 years and a longtime director and treasurer of Elsie Miller Nursing Home and Kappa Alpha Theta sorority treasurer for many years.
She is survived by her son, Robert Munroe Dresher of Bradford Woods; her sister, Charlotte M. Hoover; her grandson, David Robert Munroe Dresher and his wife Susanne of Edwards, CO; her great-grandson, James W. Dresher; her sister-in-law, Virginia Dresher of Bel Air, MD; nieces and nephews; and her granddog, Cisco. She was preceded in death by five siblings, Col. Charles L. Jr., Walter L., Donald D., Robert and Dorothy Munroe.

Robert P. Ewing died Sunday, Jan. 1, 2012.
He is survived by his mother, Madeline Gallagher Ewing; three siblings, Bernice Streiff and her husband Tom, Kathleen Sawyer and her husband Stephen and Daniel Ewing and his wife Rosanne; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, William R. Ewing.

Ruby I. Harrison, 91, of Bellevue, formerly of Forest Park, GA, died Saturday, Dec. 31, 2011.
She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Murphy and her husband Timothy; her granddaughter, Karen Lee and her husband David; two great-grandsons, Daniel and Robert Arkus; her sister-in-law, Frances Harris; and two nieces, Pamela and Paula. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Ermie Harris; and four siblings, Leona King, Lurline Grace, Evelyn Perkins and James Harris.

Egidio "Gino" Mattucci died Saturday, Dec. 31, 2011.
Mr. Mattucci had been the owner/operator of Gino's Bar in McKees Rocks for 25 years.
He is survived by two children, Dominic Nicotra and Valerie Isky-Nicotra; four siblings, Fannina, Alio, Mario and Lucia; and nieces and nephews in Pittsburgh and Italy. He was preceded in death by his parents, Luigi and Maria Mattucci.

She is survived by her husband, Leo R. Adamo; two sisters, Marie P. Tomich and Geraldine Kocis; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Kate Raimondi Polito; and three siblings, Phillip J., Ignatius and Margaret; her sister-in-law, Michelina "Line" Polito; and her brother-in-law, Anthony L. Tomich.
