Mold is gone

A recent second check of the air quality at the Avonworth Elementary Building resulted in normal readings.

At the Nov. 5 work session of the Avonworth School Board, Director of Fiscal Management Brad Waters stated that a second company had been contacted to conduct additional tests. “Normal air quality levels” were obtained in the elementary building, he said.

Earlier in the school year, responding to a teacher’s complaint of “odd smells,” the district had the air tested, and for two types of mold, “high” readings were obtained. A variety of actions were taken to correct the problem, and when finished, the air quality readings were deemed “acceptable.”

In light of this second company’s confirmation of the air quality, Waters assured the board that “There are no problems down there.”
