Keystone Oaks turns the table on Antelopes

By Patrick Gannon

After winning their battle with Keystone Oaks by a 70-47 score in a home match-up earlier this month, Avonworth had the tables turned on them Tuesday night when K. O. reversed the game outcome, downing Avonworth on their home court, 57-38.

The Antelopes were clicking in the first quarter, quickly going up 12-9 on the Eagles. The ‘Lopes maintained the lead until midway through the second quarter, when K.O.’s C. J. Morrow buried two three-pointers on back-to-back possessions to give the Eagles a one-point lead. By the end of the half, K.O. led the ‘Lopes by seven.

Avonworth senior Turner Grau quickly scored out of the break to shorten K.O.’s lead, but the Eagles shot their way into extending their lead to 12 points. The ‘Lopes were able to shorten that lead with a few stretches of their own, but were never able to overcome the Eagles’ defense.

Morrow led all Keystone Oaks scorers with 16 points, and Grau led all scorers with 19 points.
Grau also led all rebounders with 14 rebounds.
