Council vacancy

Bellevue Council member Matt Senvisky has resigned his seat, effective July 1.

Council president Lynn Tennant Heffley announced at Tuesday's regular council meeting that the second ward representative had accepted a new job with a company that did not permit employees to hold public office.

Senvisky's term on council will expire at the end of this year, and he already had chosen not to seek re-election.

Bellevue is accepting letters of interest from second ward residents who might want to fill the vacancy for the next six months. Applicants must be residents of the second ward for at least the last three years. Letters are due by July 24.
