Chase the Antelopes 5K/1 Mile Walk

Avonworth’s Third Annual Chase the Antelopes 5K and 1 Mile Walk will take place in the Ohio Township area on Saturday, April 27, beginning at 9 a.m., with runners and walkers meeting at Lenzner Field across from the high school on Josephs Lane and following routes through nearby neighborhoods.

All of the proceeds and donations will benefit the Hannah Milbert Memorial Fund, which was established to provide students with scholarships that may be used for college expenses and to help them attend school-sponsored trips.

Student Henry Wagner noted, “Hannah was an Avonworth student who tragically passed away in 2017 in a fire at her family’s home. This is a very special year since Hannah would have been graduating. Because of this, we have been going above and beyond to honor Hannah’s memory by trying to make this year the best yet.”

“During this event, there will be ongoing raffles which include many items, such as gift cards, a grill, pet supplies, a gym membership, Pirate tickets, and several other items donated by various local businesses,” student Mia Velisaris said, adding, “All participants will receive a free racing bag designed by the students, and which includes a free official racing T-shirt and coupons for local businesses.”

Also, prizes will be given to the top three runners, both overall and in age groups which range from 1-13, 14-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60+.
