Luis Vargas, 31, of Cranberry Township, was arrested on July 8 for driving under the influence of alcohol.

After Avalon Police were dispatched to a thrift store on Ohio River Boulevard on July 9 for a two-vehicle accident without injuries, Cynthia Ann Milligan, 60, of Crescent, was arrested for being intoxicated.

On July 14, a hit and run accident occurred in the parking lot of an Ohio River Boulevard restaurant.

On July 14, a resident of Ohio River Boulevard in Avalon reported criminal mischief. The ignition of her vehicle had been tampered with and broken.

On July 6, an Elizabeth Avenue business reported harassment by communication by a former client.

Elsa Augustine, 24, of Allison Park; Jennifer Stokes, 24, of Bellevue and John Tucker, 27, of Virginia Beach, were cited for harassment following a fight at an Ohio River Boulevard bar on July 15.

On July 15, a resident of Malvern Avenue reported that tires on two vehicles were slashed overnight.

A two-vehicle accident occurred at Orchard and Cleveland avenues on July 16. No injuries were reported.

On July 17, a resident reported the theft of a bike from a locked storage unit at her apartment complex.

On July 18, a Malvern Avenue resident reported the theft of a pair of lawn owls from his property.

Avalon Police officers responded to an accident involving a motorcycle and a truck on Ohio River Boulevard on July 19. The driver of the motorcycle was taken to the hospital for a broken jaw and other facial injuries. The driver of the truck, Terrance Crowley, 66, of McKees Rocks, was charged with driving under the influence.

Michele Pail, 43, of Avalon, and Timothy Roberts, 43, of Pittsburgh, were arrested for possession of suspected heroin on July 20. Pail was also wanted on a warrant from Ross Township.

On July 21, several residents on Elizabeth, Florence, Harrison and Prospect avenues reported that someone had broken into their vehicles overnight.

Following a traffic stop for a vehicle driving recklessly on Ohio River Boulevard on July 22, Hussain Al-Ghurairi, 35, of Pittsburgh, and Carie Wenger, 31, of Ross Township, were arrested for possession of suspected crystal meth and cocaine.

On July 23, a resident of Elizabeth Avenue reported a hit and run accident that occurred overnight.

A motor vehicle accident occurred at Division Street and California Avenue on July 23. Police say that no one was injured, but both vehicles had to be towed.
