Arrests made in home invasion

On January 5, Bellevue Police were dispatched to Carson Street (off Spring Avenue) concerning a home invasion / burglary in progress. The homeowner, checking inside the residence encountered four individuals.

Learning the several individuals were inside the residence without permission, additional back-up was requested. Personnel from the Avalon Police, Allegheny County Sheriff, and Ross Township K-9 responded.

Within several minutes, two adult males and two juvenile females came out of the house, surrendered without incident and were taken into custody. The adult males were arrested and taken to Allegheny County Jail. The two juvenile females will be handled through juvenile court.

Officers and K-9 searched the house. They found it destroyed by vandalism and running water.

Leonard C. Durah, 19, of Butler and Isaiah K. McDaniel, 20, of Pittsburgh 15212, were each charged with simple assault, burglary, harassment and corruption of minors. Additionally, McDaniel was charged with making a terroristic threat.

In other news from Bellevue Police, Jaymar Gilbert, 39, of Bellevue, was arrested for driving under the influence and driving while under suspension at Riverview Avenue and Ohio River Boulevard on Dec. 25.

Daryle D. Lenz, 47, of Pittsburgh 15212, was arrested for public drunkenness and disorderly conduct on Jan. 2.

April Veneziale, 31, of Bellevue, was arrested for retail theft on Lincoln Avenue on Jan. 4.

Following up on information from Pittsburgh Police concerning a female fleeing the scene of an accident in the City of Pittsburgh, Bellevue Police located Shanna Lee Smail, 19, of Bellevue, on Lincoln Avenue. She was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia on Jan. 3.

Christine C. Walko, 49, was arrested for retail theft on Lincoln Avenue on Jan. 6. She had left a store without paying for $67 of beauty products, police said.
